Sponsorship

 We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization with a focus on marine conservation off of Charleston, South Carolina’s beautiful and historic coast. Our committee consists of nine local, well rooted, successful business owners with a passion for fishing and marine preservation.  

 Our committee was formed in 2021 when we successfully hosted our first fishing tournament. We did not choose a charity, but instead we utilized our entry funds for the winnings, holding back enough to cover hard operating costs, and the small remainder as working capital towards the upcoming 2022 tournament.  

In March of 2021, our community was struck with a tragedy when we lost a dear friend and upstanding member in the sport fishing community, Captain David Redd. The shock and grief that still continues is immeasurable. He is missed greatly. Our committee couldn't think of a better way to honor David’s memory other than hosting a tournament in his honor. It was decided that all proceeds from the tournament would be donated to the South Carolina Memorial Reef in memory of Capt. David Redd. 

The South Carolina Memorial Reef is a man made reef that serves as a habitat for marine life both large and small. The reef is also the memorial resting place for all of the well known captains and respected fisherman that have gone before us.

 In April, 2022, we had a big year! We hosted our largest tournament to date, consisting of 36 boats and were able to raise $60,000.00 for the South Carolina Memorial Reef! With 100% of the sponsorship funds raised in the tournament, we were able to name a portion of the reef, the  “David Redd Reef.”
